Teacher's desk
- Every face visible — no one turned away during Read Alouds.
- Open end faces the teacher's desk, so no one is hidden.
- Opposite corners can see each other — great for anchor-question discussion.
- Empty middle = floor space for charades and group work.
- Five-second glance-check before each lesson — chairs drift back to rows.
- Rotate front-corner seats every couple of weeks.
- After group work, turn everyone back to face the U before instructing.
- Close group work by naming one thing a groupmate did well — it lands as a whole-class moment.
